Curt von Braun

Curt von Braun is a technology executive and aerospace engineer with more than three decades of experience evaluating, developing, and transitioning advanced and emerging technologies from concept to operational capability.

Most recently, Von Braun served as Technical Director of Raytheon’s portfolio supporting the U.S. Navy and allied maritime forces, where he guided technology strategy and R&D investment across advanced weapons; integrated air and missile defense; radar and optical systems; intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance; and undersea warfare.

Previously, Von Braun spent 14 years at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, rising to Assistant Division Head of the Aerospace Division, where he helped lead an organization of approximately 300 engineers, scientists, and contractors and oversaw research sponsored by the Department of Defense, DARPA, NASA, and other government agencies.

Throughout his career, Von Braun advised senior DoD, Combatant Command, NATO, and allied-government leaders on emerging technologies, capability roadmaps, and long-term technology investments. His work has focused on evaluating and transitioning complex, multidisciplinary technologies across aerospace, defense, energy, and critical infrastructure.

Von Braun holds a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin, an M.S. from the University of Michigan, and a B.S. from Arizona State University. He is a former Raytheon Technical Fellow and a member of the Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics Academy of Distinguished Alumni at The University of Texas at Austin.
