Doug Hollett

Doug Hollett is CEO and Principal of MH Technology Partners, a consultancy in earth and energy resources, aerospace, advanced manufacturing and related technologies. He currently consults with key national labs and is a strategic and technical advisor to startups in the geothermal, geologic hydrogen, mining and critical mineral sectors. Doug is also the Executive Director of S2i, a new consortium in subsurface innovation.

Doug has over 29 years of executive experience in the international oil and gas sector from 1981-2011, and eight years at the US Department of Energy from 2011-2017 and 2021-23, including as Director of the Geothermal Technologies Office, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Renewable Power, and PDAS/Acting Assistant Secretary of Fossil Energy. He created and obtained congressional funding for the FORGE Enhanced Geothermal (EGS) test site in Utah, which was the derisking platform used by Fervo to establish the technical and commercial viability of EGS, and he was a day-one strategic advisor to Fervo.

Doug was also Special Advisor for Critical Minerals and Materials to the Under Secretary for Science and Innovation at DOE. He holds a current TS-SCI clearance.

Doug is on the Board of Trustees at Wellesley College where he chairs the audit committee, and the National Academies Board on Earth Science and Resources (BESR). He is also an advisor to the Chimaera Fund at Renaissance Philanthropic, working to rapidly advance the geologic hydrogen sector.

Doug has a BA from Williams College and a MS from the University of Utah, both in geology, and a Masters in Project Management from York University.
