CHIPS: How the Federal Government Launched the US Advanced Semiconductor Industry

Former Director of the CHIPS Program Office at the U.S. Department of Commerce Mike Schmidt joined Commonweal Ventures Managing Partner Nate Loewentheil for a deep dive on the CHIPs act and semiconductor manufacturing in the US. Schmidt oversaw the rollout of the program and was responsible for its $53 billion budget, which successfully brought the five premier advanced semiconductor manufacturers to the US with broad bipartisan support.
